calendula

A bitter tonic and lymphatic alterative supporting detoxification and elimination pathways of the skin, lymph, liver, gallbladder, GI tract, and uterus. Calendula is a beautiful, humble, yet powerful remedy for internal and external applications. It is bitter, warming, and tonifying to the tissues. Calendula is best used internally when there is immune-deficiency, lymphatic stagnation, and inflammation of the digestive tract with some form of food intolerances. An inability to efficiently move toxins out of the body, causing a build-up of fluid in our system, can lead to bacterial, viral, or fungal infections. Calendula stimulates, warms, and enables tissues to move stagnant fluid through and out of our body. The effect is seen especially in lymph system, liver, and GI tract. You may benefit from calendula if you are run-down and sluggish and working hard to clean out the body, have cold extremities, and feel a lack of vital force. You feel worse in damp, cloudy weather, and experience mild depression, melancholy, or seasonal affective disorder in the winter. This is why calendula is often used in the Fall and Winter. Using calendula for cycle health is indicated when there’s painful cramping, delayed onset of bleeding, or prolonged slow, scant bleeding. Calendula will warm and stimulate the waters of your womb for a more efficient bleed. This remedy would also be indicated for leucorrhea or vaginal yeast infection associated with leaky gut Topical application of calendula is incredible. It cleans wounds from the inside out by moving pus and inflammation under the skin, speeding wound healing, and prevents bacterial and fungal overgrowth. Specific Uses: •Swollen lymph nodes, especially in the armpits, groins, and chest, metabolic waste post infection •GI Inflammation: lack of appetite, leaky gut, food intolerances/allergies, heavy antibiotic use •Acne due to the above •Dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea •Seasonal affective disorder Pregnancy: No Postpartum: Yes Children: Yes INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated calendula flowers*, glycerin*, GF alcohol *organic SIZE: 2fl oz DOSE: From 3 drops to 2 droppers full 2-3 times per day. Children: 3 drops to 1 ml 2-3 times per day.

BHG-Catnip-8SckTzIBq2A8xoAsF8yRo8-6e38e1d922d34006b709385dd5a2f610.jpg

catnip

A gentle, calming nervous system, fever, and digestive support for children and adults. You may know this plant as one cats go gaga over. In humans it has the opposite effect! It is known as a nervine sedative, which directly acts on and calms the sympathetic nervous system, bringing the body into a more parasympathetic state. Those who are in sympathetic excess (freeze, flop, fight, flight) are usually a combination of insomnia, trouble digesting, wound-up, tense, anxious. There is a sense of worry, nervousness, or fear. The ‘sedative’ aspect of this herb is gently calming, without causing drowsiness or low energy. Instead, it preparatory for ‘rest + digest’ activities such as eating, socializing, creativity, and eventually sleeping. Catnip is a mint, which means there is an overall warming then cooling affect. It will warm your stomach + digestive tract and stimulate sweating to break a fever AND ‘cool’ the body by enabling the release of anxiety, frustration, gas, and heat from a fever. Catnip is excellent to have on hand for after birth. With its affinity for smooth muscle tension, it gently supports after-pains, especially following a fast, adrenaline-driven birth. Also useful for uterine cramping during your bleed. Catnip is soooo soft when fresh. It feels comforting to touch, like a warm blanket. It reminds me exactly of the power of its medicinal effects: warming, comforting, calming. A new sense of safety. Specific Uses: •Nervous system: fussy, colicky children, family worry, insomnia, nervousness, anxiety (especially in the stomach) •Digestive: heartburn, gas, stomach cramps •Female Health: after-pains, painful cramps during your bleed •Fever: helps break fever. Combines well with Lemon Balm INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated catnip*, glycerin*, alcohol* *organic SIZE: Comes in a 2fl oz bottle. DOSE: Take 1-2 droppers full 1-2 times per day. Children: 3 drops to ½ dropper full as needed. Give every 2-3 hours to help break a fever.

chaga

The ‘King of the Fungal Forest’ is powerfully antioxidant + anticancer. Nourishes the immune system + regulates blood sugar and cholesterol. Repairs cell damage, is UV protective, and aids digestive disorders. Chaga grows on birch trees in cooler climates and has been used by Northern hemisphere native peoples in ceremony, as a simple tea, and for more extreme ailments. Three things I especially love about chaga: 1. It's name Inonotus obliquus sounds like a Harry Potter spell 2. It has a porous texture and looooves being extracted 3. There's this thing called the Oxygen Radical Absorbent Capacity, which is an anti-oxidant level. Chaga has numerous times more antioxidants than acai berries (for example). Chaga's antioxidant capacity is why it's so useful for cell damage, cell turnover, causing cancer-cell death, and healthy cell proliferation. It has been well studied for its anti-tumour properties and specifically useful for stomach, lung, colon, breast, and skin cancer. It is preventative and adjunct to cancer treatment, decreasing side effects (healthy cell death) of radiation and chemotherapy. It can increase appetite and decrease pain during cancer illness. Powerful immune system support. It modulates heat and inflammatory conditions including allergies, asthma, eczema and psoriasis. Antiviral and useful for HPV, HIV, and HSV. Chaga has an affinity for the digestive tract and treats ulcers, gastritis, IBD, and Chron's. Again think inflammation-modulating and antioxident! Widely studied for its hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and hepatoprotective properties. In plain terms: helps regulate blood sugar and cholesterol. Also protects liver function, therefore metabolic processes. Useful here if you have chronic fatigue. Last one: UV protective! Ideal for airport travelling and flying. Pregnancy: yes, Combine with Turkey Tail for HSV prevention and treatment. Postpartum: yes Kids: yes INGREDIENTS: wildcrafted Chaga*, glycerin*, honey*, alcohol* (organic*) SIZE: Comes in 2fl oz dropper bottle. DOSE: Take 1-3 droppers full 2 times per day. Half-dose for children.

come to shore

A medicinal herbal blend for regulating + nourishing your nervous system. An ally for female cycle wellness + motherhood. When I took blue vervain and motherwort for several months postpartum, I felt like nothing could irritate me. My inner peace was strong. I felt resilient + emotionally stable. Both of these herbs are insanely bitter and therefore nearly exclusively taken in tincture form. The bitter is an indication of their strong affinity for digestive, gallbladder, and liver health. The additional herbs are fortifying + stimulating in nature and balance the bitter with sweet + spicy. Even so, you may prefer to take this with some water or juice! This blend supports female health from menarche, through early postpartum and motherhood, to menopause. High, consistent doses leading up to your menses will support PMS symptoms including rage, irritability, anxiety, bloating, cramping, pain, mood swings. Note: It is not an abortifacient, however high, consistent doses may bring on a delayed bleed. Continuing this blend throughout your bleed will support heavy, irregular or stagnant bleeding. If you have irregular cycles as a whole, try taking drops or half doses daily for 2-3 cycles. In this blend: Blue Vervain: anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive upset, tense neck + shoulders, irritability, rage, PMS, burning the candle at both ends Motherwort: irregular + painful cycles, after-pains, menopause, nervousness, postpartum anxiety, PMS anxiety, palpitations, rising stress held in the chest, feeling emotionally worn out, needing courage, postpartum rage, panic attack, uterine pain + cramping, endometriosis, fibroids Milky Oats: insomnia, nervous exhaustion, tension from stress, irritability, brain fog, soothing for nervous system Ashwagandha: burnout, stress, sleep deficit, nourished nervous system, brain fog, memory, nerve damage, fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, fibroids, PMS, PPMD, anemia Ginger: headache, indigestion, poor appetite, poor perfusion, increases circulation to pelvis, endometriosis, fibroids Cinnamon: heavy bleeds, irregular periods, poor circulation, headaches, digestive aid, blood sugar regulating Pregnancy: no in 1st and 2nd trimester. can be used from 37 weeks as a daily tonic to support uterine tone + emotional relaxation in preparation for birth. cough + cold

An herbal remedy for viral and bacterial infections affecting the mouth, respiratory tract + lungs. A ‘first-aid’ remedy when it’s not possible to make warm infusions or cough syrups. I’m always alternating how I treat my kids’ coughs + colds depending on what’s in my herbal cupboard or how much time I have. I love making a soothing cough syrup, but I also love just reaching for a ready-to-go bottle on the shelf for quick dispensing. I recently gave both my kids this blend at the first sign of a cold with a runny nose and tickly cough. Consistent doses throughout the day for 1 week and it was the most easeful cough/cold we’ve recovered from! (We also stayed home, kept our feet warm, had herbal baths with ACV + magnesium chloride twice a day, and ate homemade spicy bone broth congees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, etc.). The plants in this blend are antimicrobial, antiviral, expectorant, analgesic and inflammation-modulating. The usnea in this blend is a double extracted for increased potency and polysaccharide content. Mullein: dry, irritable, unproductive cough, damaged cilia, wheezing, thickened mucous, swollen lymph nodes Thyme: upper respiratory congestion, cough, infection Usnea: viral or bacterial respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, asthma, UTI, cystitis, pain with fever Sage: throat pain, thickened mucous, unproductive + tickling cough, oral infection, digestive upset, fat assimilation, excessive bleeding with menstruation, uterine stagnation Pregnancy: generally sage is not recommended during pregnancy + breastfeeding. It is stimulating to the pelvic organs. Sage purges excess fluid in the body: decreases breastmilk, fever, hot flashes, sweating, and brings on your menses. The amount of sage per dose is higher than in culinary doses. Postpartum: See above regarding high doses of sage possibly affecting milk supply. Taking low doses of sage will not suddenly or permanently decrease supply with no chance of recovery. If you notice your supply decreasing over extended use of this blend, simply discontinue. Avoid if you already have low milk supply challenges. Children: yes INGREDIENTS: fresh wildcrafted mullein*, fresh cultivated thyme*, fresh double-extracted usnea*, fresh cultivated sage*, glycerin*, GF vodka *organic Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. TO USE: shake slightly before taking 1-2 droppers full with water 2-3 times per day. Children: 0.5 dropper full with juice 2-3 times per day.

cough syrup blend

Your average cough syrup on the pharma market suppresses a cough by inhibiting the cough reflex. Short term this may help you get to sleep, but prolong overall healing. The phlegm builds up during illness needs to come up and out. A cough is necessary for recovery. Most herbs for cough are 'expectorant': help bring phlegm UP! Medicinal plants can do a variety of things to treat a cough: •irritate the tissues to stimulate a cough •cut through thick phlegm, making it easier to cough up •relax tense rib muscles or diaphragmatic muscle to create more dynamic movement in the lungs during a cough •alternatively, tone too relaxed muscles to improve movement •sooth dry, irritated, abraded tissue •heal damaged cilia •and on it goes... Cough syrup is a great way to deliver medicinal herbs to kids due to its sweetness. The honey is additionally soothing and antibacterial to your throat. See 'preparation' for how to make this syrup at home. This proprietary blend is specifically for the unproductive, phlegmy, and repetitive cough. Although I would personally use it for any cough and notice if it makes a difference or not, even for the dry cough. I've made this blend for the most common cough I see with my kids. Hot tip: give this mostly during the day as it stimulates more productive coughing! Giving several doses close to bedtime might make for a busy night. This blend contains: mullein: relaxant expectorant, demulcent. relaxes tense respiratory muscles, creates a productive cough, soothes irritated tissues of resp tract, antibacterial wild cherry tree bark: calms repetitive coughing, expectorant, antiviral anise seed: dissolves excess mucous, soothes digestion from swallowed phlegm, expectorant thyme: antibacterial, decreases congestion in upper respiratory tract, expectorant licorice: upper resp tract congestion, soothes dry irritated tissues, calms repetitive coughing, antiviral Combine the use of this syrup with Cough + Cold tincture or Valerian for additional sleep support. Pregnancy: wild cherry bark is notoriously considered 'toxic' due to it containing prunasin, a cyanogenic glycoside, which may cause harm (definitely to rats) to humans in big doses. This has never been formally tested. The general recommendation therefore is to avoid this plant completely in pregnancy, even though the non-toxic part of the plant are harvested. The amount of cherry tree bark in this blend is minimal and is taken short term. You may chose to only use this blend in 2nd or 3rd trimester, or avoid all together. Interestingly, cherry tree bark has been used for ages for children's cough with no reporting toxic effects. Postpartum: Yes Children: Yes INGREDIENTS: mullein*, wild cherry tree bark, anise seed*, thyme*, licorice* *dried, cultivated, organic Prep: Add 1oz to 4 cups of distilled or filtered water. Bring to boil, then simmer on low until 1 cup liquid remains. Add 1/2c cup honey once decoction has cooled slightly. Store in the fridge. Dose: 1-2tbsp 3 times per day. Kids: 1-2 tsp 3 times per day

GOLDENROD

Let this plant love on your upper respiratory tract + kidneys. Astringent + antimicrobial. Supports allergies, post nasal drip and oral ulcers. Clears infection of the urinary tract. I recently had to live with a dog for 1 week. *cue the itching, swelling everywhere, and plugged everything*. Goldenrod was by far the most effective support for all of the above and worked better than the antihistamine I was also taking! This one is not just for allergies, but for any mucous and phlegm build-up in the sinuses and upper respiratory tract. Since it dries up tissue, modulates inflammation, and is antimicrobial, can also be used for bleeding gum, oral ulcers and laryngitis. Can be a nice cold + flu remedy as well. Since Goldenrod also loves your kidneys and urinary tract, consider it for any infectious build-up or irritation. It will help you pee more and flush bacteria and leucorrhea. Other signs of needing goldenrod would be cloudy, concentrated urine despite adequate hydration. Use goldenrod internally for yeast infection or post-infection build-up. With short term use it is soothing to irritated oral or urinary mucous membranes. Long term use for more than 3 months can be drying. Pregnancy: yes! Great option for UTI where other herbs are contraindicated in pregnancy. Postpartum: yes Kids: yes, especially runny nose and allergies. lemon balm

An herbal remedy for nervous system tension in the mind, heart, and abdomen. Provides gentle fever + viral support. Lemon Balm is happiness contained in a plant and supports sympathetic excess held in the mind, heart, and digestive system equally. For those who have nervous tension from hyperadrenalism, stress, anxiety. Provides calm + clarity for the scattered mind without being sedating. For stress held in the heart marked by palpitations and sweaty palms. For stress in the gut characterized by ‘butterflies’, nausea, and those who are obsessive about food allergies or intolerances. For depression linked to hyperthyroidism + extended fight/flight. Gently stimulates TSH levels in those with hyperthyroidism. Excellent remedy for children + adults for late, high temperature fever that is not breaking. The skin will feel hot, dry, and tight. There will be restlessness, agitation, headache or insomnia from the heat that isn’t able to escape through tight pores. Lemon Balm will relax capillaries + pores, inducing a sweat, relaxing the tissues enough to dissipate heat. Very useful for viral infections of any kind. If yarrow is useful for bacterial infection + fever, lemon balm has an affinity for viral infection + fever. Useful for recurrent HSV 1 + 2. Finally, lemon balm gently supports a wide spectrum of dyspepsia - gas, bloating, indigestion, cramping in the gut. Especially if it’s caused by long term stress. Lemon balm is for the ‘serious adult’ who is disconnected from their inner child. One who is seeking inner happiness; who is wanting to increase their awareness + joy. matriarch balm_edited.jpg

matriarch balm

Herbal infused healing balm for postpartum, newborn + family care. Turn to the healing properties of herbal-infused oils for all your wounds, scrapes, bites, infections, and rashes. I used to use pharmaceutical diaper rash, nipple, antibiotic cream all the time…no more! The combination of herbs found in the Matriarch Salve will target the four stages of healing: staunch bleeding, support inflammation, granulation, and remodeling. This balm is also protective, soothing, antibiotic, and analgesic. This really is a matriarch all-purpose balm for diaper rash, cracked + sore nipples, knee scrapes, shallow bleeding wounds, bug bites, rashes, and evolving external infections. This balm was originally created as an alternative to the medicated All Purpose Nipple Ointment so commonly used + overused during breastfeeding. It can soothe irritated superficial tissues, decrease sharp nerve sensations, and speed cell regeneration. My daughter recently had a full body rash that kept her up due to itching. Since this was all I had I gave it a go...and OMG! I first made her skin damp using a hydrosol (the rash was soooo dry) and applied this balm on immediately after to seal in the moisture. Within 2-3 minutes she stopped scratching + complaining about it. LOVE. Comfrey: supports quick healing of superficial tissues, soothing + moistening Calendula: supports inflammation + lymph drainage, acts on layers just below skin, manages discharge, pus, yeast. Softens the appearance of scar tissue Yarrow: stops bleeding, prevents + treats bacterial infections. Some balms will have Plantain or St. John’s Wort Plantain: itchy bug bites, poisonous stings + plants, wounds, rashes, staunches bleeding St. John’s Wort: numbs nerve pain, aches and bruising. Treats sunburn and deeper wounds. Antibacterial + inflammation-modulating. Specific Uses: •perineal wounds •nipple damage •CS incisions •diaper + skin rashes •cord stump/newborn umbilicus inflammation This balm was made using dried + fresh herbs. Each herb was individually extracted according to their unique needs. The balm has added herbal alcohol extracts for potency + preservation. The combination of this well extracted oil + beeswax means it has a long shelf life! Always wash hands before using + avoid double-dipping. The balm may harden over time or with temperature changes. It will soften and become more spreadable in the warmth of your hands. It is purposefully essential oil free + has a naturally mild botanical scent. Comes in 1 oz screw-top tins. Use as needed. Not for use on deep puncture wounds.

milky oats

The ultimate support for relentless modern life leading to exhaustion + weakness. Nourishes and restores your nervous system with long-term use. Milky Oats refers to the tops of the oat plant before it goes to seed, while it's still green and at its peak latex production. Squeeze the tops during this stage and milky-white goodness oozes forth. This latex is what's so soothing and restorative to our nervous systems. It is 'mother's milk' for women. For when life has going and going before, during, and beyond daylight hours. The to-do list piles up and leaves us reeling at times. Milky Oats is gentle yet powerful enough to support someone on the full spectrum of fatigue to burnout. For when the stress leads to scatter-brain and poor concentration or more extremely to insomnia and illness. Milky Oats is here to restore that depletion so that you can start getting back to using your energy sustainably + build resiliency. lion's mane

The mushroom of nerve regeneration that supports cognition + memory. Daily tonic to support long term brain health + heal nerve damage. Combined with rosemary for head + brain circulation. The ratio of rosemary in each dose is minimal and not likely to cause significant gut or uterine symptoms. Use the Lion's Mane-only option if you have a sensitivity or concern. Lion’s Mane is the go-to mushroom for brain + nerve support. There are many ways to determine what part of the body a plant has special affinity for. Lion’s Mane is a great example of its appearance and structure mimicking that of a brain! Soft, spongy with lobes and hairs, relating to the brain and nerve fibers. This mushroom has been extensively studied and shown to stimulate Nerve Growth Factor. It is a powerful nootropic, neuro-regenerative, neuroprotective tonic. Postpartum left me a little brain dead! Growing babies + lack of sleep (and a history of Lyme disease!) left me with noticeable memory and focus changes. Lion’s Mane is most helpful for nerve tissue recovery or nervous system burnout when taken for several weeks to months at a time. If you’ve ever said ‘my brain is fried’, this is for you. Pregnancy: Lion’s mane alone is especially supportive for those with little time to recover between pregnancies and those needing to continue working + maintain brain function. Rosemary stimulates circulation to the uterus and is generally not recommended in pregnancy in doses (other than culinary amounts) from a medical perspective. A holistic perspective is that stimulating circulation to the pelvis is useful for uterine + pregnancy function! There is no strong evidence that rosemary causes miscarriage. The amount of rosemary per dose in my Lion’s Mane extract is similar to culinary amounts. Discontinue if any unwanted effects occur. Postpartum: yes Children: yes. Give 1/2 to 1 dropper full 1-2 times per day. Specific Uses: •Nervous system: peripheral nerve damage from injury or diabetes, cognition, anxiety + depression from fatigue or burnout, delayed muscle-motor response, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, brain injury, MS •GI tract: ulcers, cancer prevention •Blood sugar: regulate blood sugar, insulin resistance, diabetes, HbA1c INGREDIENTS: Lions Mane Triple Extract + Rosemary: dried lions mane*, fresh rosemary*, GF alcohol, coconut-derived glycerin*, raw honey*, distilled water Lions Mane Triple Extract: dried lions mane*, GF alcohol, coconut-derived glycerin*, raw honey*, distilled water *organic Triple extracted for therapeutic polysaccharide content. SIZE: Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. With daily maximum use, a 2oz bottle will last approximately 2 weeks. With minimal or short-term use, approximately 2+ months. A family of 4 may use 4-5 bottles per year. TO USE: 1-3 droppers full 1-2 times per day Children dose: 0.5-1 dropper full 1-2 times per day.

pure pleasure

An aphrodisiac blend to ease nervous tension + stimulate circulation. For pelvic congestion + stagnant digestion. Incites peace, connection + happiness. This happens physiologically due to unique chemical constituents in certain plants that elicit a delightful, supportive response in the body without unwanted side effects. Aphrodisiacs are traditionally used to describe plants that support sexual function, libido and pelvic circulation. I would argue that these plants primarily support a sense of well-being, calm your nervous system, and create capacity for social connection. This blend is extracted in port wine because yum! Dried herbs are used instead of fresh so that the low alcohol percentage remains undiluted and shelf-stable. This blend includes: Tulsi: For the stressed out, due to running on adrenaline for far too long but have not hit burnout yet. There is mental fatigue from overthinking and feeling frazzled. For those working through grief, heartbreak, or clinging on to something and unable to let go. For the groggy, clouded mind needing clarity. Increases circulation to brain, heart, and pelvis. Rose: For nervous tension of the heart from grief, heartbreak or depression. Clears pelvic congestion Damiana: For those fearful of expression, anxious, closed up. Nervous tension shows up as tight shoulders, cold body, sexual block, or performance anxiety. Stimulates circulation to the pelvis and digestive system. Licorice: balances this blend with moistening properties. Cinnamon + cardamom: warming, circulatory stimulants. Pregnancy: no Postpartum: yes Children: sure, but you won't want to share this. INGREDIENTS: tulsi*, rose*, damiana*, licorice*, cinnamon*, port wine *organic. SIZE: Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. DOSE: shake slightly before taking 1-2 droppers full as needed.

queen Anne's lace

A women’s ally for digestion + hormonal regulation. Supports detoxification + elimination pathways of the liver + kidneys. Circulatory stimulant for the skin, mind, and uterus. QAL should be in every woman’s apothecary. She has an affinity for the digestive tract, liver, kidneys, skin, and uterus. She smells aromatic, tastes bitter and pungent. QAL increases blood flow to the kidneys, getting you to pee out any build-up and toxins. The combination of its antibacterial and diuretic actions makes it useful for UTIs or cystitis. Other kidney issue needing a diuretic effect include swollen extremities, edema, or puffiness under your skin. QAL is a warming bitter for the liver and gallbladder by supporting cell regeneration and detoxification. It may lower blood cholesterol and reduce blood clots. Any herb that is pungent and warming has an affinity for digestion by stimulating appetite, peristalsis, helping eliminate built up gas and bloating. She is gently spasmolytic and calming for our nervous system. Consider her for grounding following a crisis. Eases inner emotional tension and anger. You may turn to her if you’ve indulged in excess alcohol or food. Has a unique affinity for the skin, especially dry, mature skin. Reishi

The ‘mushroom of immortality’ that provides strength + vitality following physical depletion + mental fatigue. A daily tonic to increase resistance to stress. Reishi has thousands of years of use in Chinese medicine and is revered for its adaptogenic and revitalizing properties. It is antiviral, inflammation-modulating, hepatoprotective, a nervine tropho-restorative, and a respiratory + cardiac tonic. I reach for reishi as a daily tonic leading up to demanding times, following illness or attendance at long or traumatic births. A vital addition to your pregnancy and postpartum apothecary to provide physical + mental stability. It is gentle and modulating and most supportive when used over longer periods of time to build up your core immunity. Grandpa vibes: stable, gentle, wise, longevity. Pregnancy: yes, in Asia it is taken throughout pregnancy to bolster immunity and make a ‘Reishi’ baby who is calm, peaceful and alert. Postpartum: yes. Useful to take for several months in early postpartum for immune and mood support. Children: yes. Useful when given for weeks leading up to anticipated life changes and after illnesses for 1-2 weeks. Soothe

A soothing glycerite for babies + children. Supports the nervous + digestive system. This is your go-to remedy for common infant + child ailments. Used as a teething remedy due to the numbing + analgesic properties of clove and for the calming effect of chamomile. Not only will this blend treat pain in the mouth or from tummy aches, it will soothe their nervous system and support sleep all at once. I began using this remedy with my kids from 6 months of age for colic, teething, difficulty sleeping due to illness or fever, and extreme upset with difficulty calming. Can be used in preparation for transitions or challenges such as long car rides. The main menstruum in this blend is glycerin. It is the perfect menstruum to make children’s tonic as it extracts plant constituents similar to alcohol (without the alcohol!) and is delightfully sweet (without the sugar!). Glycerin is naturally antimicrobial and dissolves easily in water if you are wanting to dilute it. This blend contains the smallest amount of alcohol for maximum extraction + potency and for added shelf life. The amount of alcohol in 1 dose is negligible. The taste is pleasantly sweet + pungent and will have a mild numbing effect in the mouth. Kids LOVE it. Chamomile: colic, boating, gas, painful abdominal cramping, nervous tension, anxiety, irritability Cloves: teething, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, gas, wet + unproductive cough, infection, fever INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated chamomile*, clove*, coconut-derived glycerin*, brandy *organic SIZE: Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. TO USE: Give 3 drops to 1 dropper full as needed. TEETHING: rub several drops directly onto the gums. Give dosages intuitively according to your child's age and size. i.e. for 6 months-1 year use 3-10 drops. For 2+ years use 1/2 dropper full. This remedy is not toxic in high doses, so you may give repeated size-appropriate doses until the desired effect is achieved.

spilanthes

An immune-stimulant for winter illnesses and an antimicrobial for bacterial and fungal infections. Strongly numbing and supports dental health. Also known as ‘buzz bottons’ or ‘electric daisy’. This curious flower bud produces the most intense tingling, numbing sensation all over your tongue when taken as a tea or more strongly as a tincture. It feels like electric poprocks! Spilanthes has a wide range of effect on the body with an affinity for the lymphatic and immune system, skin, GI tract, uterus, kidneys, and blood circulation. It is most commonly used for oral and dental health ranging from toothache to gingivitis to canker sores to sore throat. It is immune-stimulant similar to echinacea where you would use it early and consistently during an acute cold and flu season. Through lab research it has been observed to stimulate macrophage function and contain gram pos bacteria such as staph and gram neg bacteria E. Coli. Spilanthes is useful for yeast, ringworm, and parasitic infections as well. Spilanthes is warming and pungent which usually means a stimulating effect, specifically the stomach and uterus. Oil extract of spilanthes (coming 2025!) is Botox replacement! Smooths fine lines and wrinkles, eases muscle tension, increases circulation to the skin, heals wounds and rashes. Spilanthes has some benefit for female pelvic health, which I would use in combination with other herbs. Specific Uses: •Oral health: toothache, oral infection, cankers, dryness, sore throat, gingivitis, bleeding gums •Pain: muscle, headache, stomach •Antimicrobial (tincture only): ringworm, vaginal yeast, gram pos/neg •Immune: cold, flu, tuberculosis, pneumonia •GI: dysentery, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, heartburn •Kidney: stones, gravel, UTIs, urinary retention/swelling •Antiparasitic: malaria, worms, itchy scalp •Pelvic health: leucorrhea, irregular cycles, amenorrhea Pregnancy: No Postpartum: Yes Children: Yes INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated double extracted spilanthes*, glycerin*, alcohol* *organic SIZE: Comes in 2 fl oz dropper bottle TO USE: 1-2 droppers full 2-3 times per day. sweet relief

A strong nervine blend to calm the mind + body. Provides relief for anxiety, insomnia, and pain. Often these symptoms are intertwined. Racing thoughts + pulse, nervous tension or irritability causing insomnia...or perhaps acute pain patterns causing restless sleep. These plants are allies for ‘in-the-moment’ and ideally are for short term use while you resolve the reasons for your anxiety, insomnia, or pain. Low doses will provide peace, calm, and increase capacity for social connection. Higher doses are gently sedating and taken as the sun sets and you are preparing for sleep. I highly recommend exploring this blend by starting with drops dosage. Take a few drops under the tongue 1-2 hours before bed. Then take a final dose of a few drops as you climb into bed. If you wake with racing thoughts, take another dose of a few drops. Use the same protocol for acute pain patterns. This blend is intended as a ‘first-aid’ remedy during tough times and is not for long-term use. With short term use 1 bottle can last you the year. This blend may be more useful in the lead up panic attacks, not during. If you are on psychiatric medication, you can google ‘[herb name] + [medication] herb-drug interaction’ to gain understanding of possible positive or negative side effects there. This blend includes: California poppy: anxiety, tension headaches, insomnia, muscle tension, neuralgia, sciatica Hops: insomnia, hormonal headaches, digestive upset, hot flashes, racing thoughts, ‘hot-headed’, rely on caffeine/sugar, pelvic pain Passionflower: ADHD, pelvic pain, PMS, digestive upset, high blood pressure, racing pulse, insomnia, anxiety. Calms the spirit, increases cheerfulness Kava Kava: anxiety, depression, social anxiety, muscle tension, insomnia, circular thoughts, pelvic pain, mucous membrane pain, dysuria, IC. *note: Kava is numbing to the mucous membranes! This sensation is safe and exactly why I added it to the blend. Milky Oats: insomnia, nervous exhaustion, tension from stress, irritability, brain fog, soothing Lemon Verbena: Joint pain, inflammation, insomnia, digestive upset Pregnancy: googling these individual plants will give a whole lot of: don’t take while pregnant! None of them are inherently toxic, especially in low doses. The reality is that the side effects of long-term SSRIs + benzodiazepines are likely much greater than the potential side effects of even long-term use of these herbs. Of course, there are always individual reaction + allergies that can occur with any ingested product. None of these plants are specifically abortive, labour-inducing, or teratogenic. You are absolutely capable of taking a few drops and noticing the effects on your body. If you have any unwanted side effects, you can simply discontinue or use smaller doses. Limit use to short-term, drop dosage. Postpartum: yes. Hops is also a galactagogue. Consider short-term, drop dosage when breastfeeding. Children: No. This is a strong blend. Consider individual herbs for acute anxiety or insomnia like Soothe blend or Valerian. INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated california poppy*, fresh wildcrafted hops*, fresh cultivated passionflower*, dried cultivated kava kava*, fresh cultivated milky oats*, fresh cultivated lemon verbena*, glycerin*, GF alcohol . *organic SIZE: Come in a 2 fl oz dropper bottle. TO USE: shake slightly before taking 3-15 drops 1-3 times at bedtime, under the tongue or with water.

Tremella has been used in medicine + culinary preparations in Chinese Medicine for thousands of years, especially by royalty to enhance beauty + skin health. It has a strong antioxidant, inflammation-modulating, nutritive, demulcent, and radioprotective action on the brain, skin, nervous + circulatory system. This is my go-to mushroom for hydration! It has been key in my skin health following chronic dehydration from medication use and nutrient depletion. It helps me maintain fluid balance and keep water IN. It softens fine lines and makes my skin plump! She’s got lady-in-waiting vibes: ready to make you look you your best, nurse you back to health, soft, soothing. Note: This tincture is gelatinous! When using the dropper, squeeze and wait an extra second to allow the liquid to syringe up. Not for external use! Pregnancy: yes Postpartum: yes Children: They love it. tulsi

A warming herbal adaptogen for inner harmony + regulation. It is uplifting to the mind + body and supports the nervous, digestive, and circulatory systems. Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil. I’ll never forget the first time I had tulsi tea. The smell alone brought a smile to my face and instantly lifted my spirits. It tastes pungent, bitter, and sweet all at the same time. It is an ally that brings a sense of wholeness + harmony during the time you feel cloudy + oppressed. It supports inner realignment + balance in the most uplifting way. Tulsi is a nervine sedative that brings an overall sense of relaxation without causing drowsiness. Thus, it is useful anytime of the day. As an adaptogen this plant supports stress marked by low cortisol, a decreased stress response, and situational depression. Not for those who have hit burnout and have prolonged elevated cortisol (ashwagandha is for you!). The one word to describe the person who needs tulsi: melancholy. For those walking through grief or heartbreak and have low energy + spirit. They may be clinging on to something, unable to let go; have excess thinking without clarity and focus. Physiologically there is a lack of blood going to the brain + digestive systems. As a strongly warming plant, it supports stagnant digestion marked by bloating, gas, constipation, or nausea after eating. It increases circulation to your gut and helps increase secretions. It is known to be blood sugar regulating and supports metabolism in the liver. Specifically, for diabetes and/or high cholesterol/LDL levels. Tulsi has a specific use for mild fevers with chills or irritation. It helps increase peripheral circulation and relax capillaries to induce a sweat, ultimately getting the fever to disperse. Not for use with a high fever marked by sweats (Yarrow is great here). This herb may not be for you if you run hot, irritable, agitated or spaced out. It may make you feel MORE of these things. A cooling nervine like blue vervain may be more suited for you, which is found in my Come to Shore blend. Note: Look up drug-herb interaction if you are on anticoagulants. It may slow blood clotting and is to be avoided pre/post-surgery. Pregnancy: It's been said to avoid in pregnancy as it increases circulation to the pelvis/uterus. I have seen some literature around tulsi supporting blood flow to the baby. I have not seen this plant mentioned in any herbal resources that discuss abortifacients or labour inducers. Tulsi is taken in many parts of the world during pregnancy, usually in tea form. Like any medicinal herb, you can become aware of side effects long before they cause serious effects, especially when taking drop doses. It takes extreme high doses of even the strongest herbs to cause serious negative effects on pregnancy. For me this is a yes. Postpartum: yes Children: yes, however I find that kids tend to run ‘hot’ and overstimulated or spacey which is not the profile of the person needing tulsi. INGREDIENTS: fresh cultivated tulsi*, coconut-derived glycerin*, fruit alcohol* *organic Size: Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. TO USE: Take 1-2 droppers full in water 2-3 times per day. 1 bottle of continuous use would last 2-3 weeks.

up all night

An adaptogenic blend for mental + physical stamina. Provides renewed energy and supports immunity. For mamas, birth workers, and shift workers needing to keep going despite interrupted sleep. For anyone who needs a little extra energy + immune support. Best used during the daytime and not after 1pm unless you are needing longevity during night shifts. I was drawn to eleuthero specifically for postpartum support after my second baby. I took it daily for 2ish months and noticed my energy levels improve without any of the side effects of caffeine! This blend captures additional liver detoxification, digestive, and immune support needed during times of high stress, intense recovery, or exhaustion. This blend contains 3 adaptogenic herbs. usnea

Nature’s penicillin! Effective antimicrobial for gram positive bacterial, fungal + viral infections. Supports pain with infectious fevers. Affinity for the lungs, lymph and immune systems. I loooove usnea. It's not even a plant! Instead it's a symbiotic combo of algae and lichen. It grows slowly, anchored to tree bark and branches. It is best to only harvest usnea from dead trees or after winds storms have knocked it down. You'll know it's usnea by stretching a strand to reveal a white core. It smells very fresh + cleansing, an ode to its powerful antiseptic properties. Usnea and its unique constituents have been researched for a long time. Interestingly, successfully used as an alternative to penicillin during WW2. It is specifically useful for gram positive bacterial infections including staph, strep (including pneumonia), listeria, C. diff to name a few. Specific Uses: •infection: gram pos bac, viral, fungal, respiratory infection, gastroenteritis, dermatitis, thrush, ringworm, cystitis, mold infection, asthma, UTI, trichomonas, bronchitis •pain + fever: will not dissipate a fever by opening pores, but is useful for long haul fevers from infection, pain with fever, and very high fevers that need to be cooled •inflammation + immunity - associated with the above •wound healing: using diluted tincture or the dried, powdered herb, boils, ulcers, cuts, impetigo I personally reach for usnea for any type of infection with inflammation and heat patterns: yellow/green phlegm, flu-like illness with respiratory symptoms Psychological use: grief, especially built-up, unprocessed Pregnancy: yes Postpartum: yes Children: yes INGREDIENTS: wild harvested fresh usnea, coconut-derived glycerin*, alcohol *organic. Double extracted for maximum usnic acid + polysaccharide content, 60% ABV DOSE: 2 droppers full 2-3 times per day. Children: 10 drops to ½ dropper consistently, 3 times per day for acute issues.

valerian

Herbal ally to support nervous disorders + musculoskeletal pain. Lulls you into sleep + keeps you asleep. This is my go-to remedy for sleep disturbances caused by nervousness, spasms + irritability. When it’s time for bed, but you got your second wind from pushing yourself a little too far, and now you don’t feel tired. When your pre-bleed irritability + cramping causes insomnia. When you have emotionally-related digestive problems. When you've been stressed long enough that you have elevated blood pressure, cold hands + feet and can't calm down for sleep. This herb is called a ‘nervine hypnotic’ which helps you relax into an altered mental state conducive to sleep. For this reason, it is used mostly in the evenings. If you have extreme anxiety or panic attacks, you may find this useful during the day. It is also pain-relieving, especially for MSK pain + spasm, and uterine cramps. This remedy is very useful for elderly people who have a combination of spasmodic disorders with insomnia. Here’s the kicker. 4/10 people will get the OPPOSITE effect from valerian. It can keep you up, cause giddiness + restlessness. This may occur for 2 reasons. One, the dose was too high for you. Two, you run ‘hot’. This is a warming herb and best for those who have diminished circulation, look pale, have cold hands/feet/skin. If you have headaches that are throbbing + hot, this is not for you! If you’re menopausal, take alongside a cooling remedy. For those who have excess heat, this herb can be aggravating. These side effects are not harmful…mostly annoying and poorly timed! Simply discontinue or use drop dosage. A cooling sedative like hops or a neutral herb like passionflower would be more supportive for you. Both are found in my Sweet Relief blend. Combined Sweet Relief and Valerian is a balanced approach if you have a heat-aggravated constitution. Nutmeg is added for additional digestive support and is used in Ayurveda to help you stay asleep. It adds flavour to valerian which some people think tastes and smells like dirty old socks! Personally, I find the intense flavour of valerian delightful. It’s a combination of acrid (like a sour/bitter), bitter, and pungent. It tastes veeeery medicinal and slightly numbing; an ode to valerian’s pain-relieving effects. My whole family will take this remedy straight, but you may like to add it to some water. Pregnancy: yes. It is known to decrease iron absorption, so you may like to take this separately from any iron supplements. Postpartum: yes. Reserve for when you are tired but wired. Children: yes. My favourite indication for valerian is when their sleep is disturbed during illness. Restless, spasms, tummy aches AND can’t get deep rest because of it. See 'dosage' for more info. Avoid during high fever. Birth workers: great remedy for when you need help getting into an altered state for sleep in the middle of the day. Will also treat bloating, achiness, coldness common after long times spend awake at a birth. INGREDIENTS: fresh valerian root*, nutmeg, honey*, glycerin, GF alcohol *organic Comes in a 2fl oz dropper bottle. TO USE: Take 5 drops - 1 dropper full 1 hour before bed. You can repeat the dose every 20-30 minutes until you fall asleep. Additional doses if you wake during the night. Notice if you feel tired or groggy in the morning. This may mean the dosage was too high for you or you took it too late in the night. The dosage guidelines are personal ones, you can intuitively adjust as needed. Children: Give 3-4 drops – ½ dropper before bed and with wake-ups. Reserve for middle of the night and not too close to morning.

wombspace oxymel

A nutritive blend to support hydration, muscle function, cramping and energy during your bleed. This one was created specifically for your moon time! Receive gentle cycle support for heavy or inconsistent bleeding, painful cramps, and stagnation. I love using this oxymel as an electrolyte replenisher. There is nothing that keeps me hydrated more than adding an oxymel to my water bottle for the day, therefore, less headache, brain fog, sluggishness. ACV has a way of rejuvenating you on a cellular level due to its potassium levels. The added salt and minerals + vitamins extracted from the herbs makes this a hydration and therapeutic powerhouse. yarrow

A first-aid ally for common family ailments. Supports infection, fever, bleeding, digestion, and pelvic health. Yarrow has ancient history and evidence of its medicinal use dating back 65,000 years! It has a wide range of uses and actions in the body. Likely because it has a strong affinity for the blood…which reaches every part of our body. It is best known as a styptic + antiseptic. I’ve witnessed this magic myself when I used yarrow + witch hazel on a bleeding wound. The bleeding stopped immediately. The most effective way to use yarrow on a wound is as a poultice. In a pinch you could use yarrow-infused witch hazel or diluted yarrow tincture externally. Yarrow is incredible not only for stopping bleeding, but also as an antiseptic. It supports inflammation, granulation, and tissue remodeling following wounding. Yarrow tincture is most useful for internal bleeding + hemorrhage of any kind. For oral wounds, bleeding gums, tooth infection, post tooth-extraction. Dilute several droppers of the tincture in warm water and swish several times per day. Yarrow is a top remedy for fever, cold or flu caused by infection. For hot, periodic fevers with nausea. It acts on the skin to open vessels and induce sweating. It also drives blood to the surface to cool down and be recirculated back in. It is best given as a hot infusion, however works in tincture form as well when given with hot water. It is useful for all manner of acute infection: UTIs, respiratory, digestive. It supports lung and respiratory infection with fever. UTIs with fever. Yarrow is a bitter tonic, strong astringent + vulnerary for the digestive tract. It will stimulate appetite + liver secretions + increase circulation to the hepatic portal system. It supports bleeding ulcers, leaky gut, diarrhea, and bacterial infections. It’s astringent + tonic effects also reach the pelvic level and support vulvar varicosities, hemorrhoids, thrombosis. For hemorrhoids this remedy is an excellent internal remedy adjunct to whatever external remedy you are using. The constituents in this plant have a dual action on toning vessels and causing improved blood flow. By default this regulating dual action also supports high and low blood pressure. Useful in the cases of decreased pelvic circulation + lax tissues such as prolapse, incontinence, amenorrhea, menorrhagia, and bleeding fibroids. Also for UTIs marked by burning, heat + bloody urine. Treats leukorrhea. Yarrow infused witch hazel is a first-aid ally for itchy bug bites, bug repellent, and superficial bleeding wounds. Useful for bruising and swelling related to injury, birth tears, or hemorrhoids. I love using yarrow witch hazel as a deodorant. Yarrow witch hazel is for topical use only. Pregnancy: no Postpartum: very useful as an internal remedy for heavy bleeding following miscarriage + birth, copious bleeding from a tear, hemorrhoids, prolapse. Children: yes, I use this most commonly for infection with fever. Frequent, consistent doses for a strong antibiotic effect. Lemon Balm works similarly and tastes 1000x better. Birth workers: handy to have in your birth kit for bleeding after birth. See ‘dosage’ for more info. INGREDIENTS: fresh wildcrafted yarrow*, GF alcohol *organic TO USE: take 0.5-1.5 droppers full 3-5 times per day. For fever + UTIs add to hot water. POSTPARTUM: Dilute 1:1 in some sterile water, dip sterile gauze, and apply pressure to bleeding perineal tears. 0.5-1 dropper full can be given under the tongue every 5-15 min for heavy bleeding after birth until effect achieved. CHILDREN: This herb is very bitter. Consider giving in warm water or room temp juice. Give 0.5 dropper full every 3 hours during the day at the onset of acute infection for 1 day. Reduce frequency until a few days following resolution of the illness.
